Stabenow says the House is playing politics while farmers need certainty

The Ranking Member of the U.S. Senate Ag Committee says while farm bills are traditionally extended beyond four years, she hopes that’s not the case this fall.

“It really does depend on the politics of the House or whether they’re willing to just focus on what our farmers really need right now.”

Michigan Democratic Senator Debbie Stabenow tells Brownfield the Senate’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program includes work provisions and there are some areas she’s not willing to compromise.
