Stormy weather returns to the far southeastern Plains; cool across much of the Corn Belt

Across the Corn Belt, cool weather prevails in the wake of a cold front’s passage.  Tuesday’s high temperatures will remain below 70°F in much of the northern Corn Belt.  In addition, spotty showers are slowing fieldwork from the upper Mississippi Valley into the Great Lakes region.  Producers in scattered areas of the Midwest are assessing farm infrastructural impacts related to recent severe thunderstorms, some of which produced damaging winds.

On the Plains, unsettled conditions—highlighted by local downpours and thunderstorm-induced high winds—continue in parts of Oklahoma and Texas.
