A new study from the National Oilseed Processors Association and the United Soybean Board says there’s been a decline in the carbon footprint of U.S. soybeans.

“The study found U.S. soybean farmers, the processing plants and refineries reduced their carbon footprint by 19% for soybeans, 6% for soybean meal, 22% for crude soybean oil and 8% for refined soy oil from co-located refineries.”
The carbon reductions are due, in part, to the sustainable practices farmers are implementing, including no-till and cover crops and she says that translates to reductions in carbon intensity across the clean fuels industry.
