Farmers finally had a break in the weather and more than five days ideal for fieldwork last week.
As of Sunday, the USDA says sugarbeets are 95 percent planted and 60 percent emerged, ahead of last year and the five-year average. Soybeans are 33 percent planted and corn is 37 percent complete, still behind last year and average.
Winter wheat condition is 70 percent good to excellent rating with 58 percent jointed.
