There is an increase in swine farm expansion in Illinois and the Director of the Illinois Pork Producers says interest from younger generations and supportive communities are to thank.
“Not only have we been able to see an increase in some of the development of pork production in our state, but we are also seeing that next generation being able to come back and work on the farm.”
Jennifer Tirey says expansion is beneficial to Illinois as the pork industry brings $1.8 billion to the state’s economy, generates $170 million in taxes and provides over 10,000 jobs.
