Temperatures to gradually moderate next week across the Heartland; a drier pattern

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures and precipitation across much of the country.  Warmer-than-normal weather will be confined to the southern tip of Florida and areas along and near the Pacific Coast.

Meanwhile, wetter-than-normal conditions should be limited to northern California, the Northwest, and the southern Atlantic region.
