Tennessee farmers welcomed widespread rains this past week, but crop conditions held.
Statewide, soybeans are rated 39% good to excellent, with 53% blooming, and 20% setting pods. Cotton is rated 37% good to excellent, 81% of cotton is squaring and 35% setting bolls. Corn is rated 40% good to excellent with 82% silking and 31% in the dough stage. Tobacco is 34% topped and 40% is rated good to excellent.
Pastures conditions improved to 33% good to excellent and but with the less than ideal conditions, farmers have been forced to start feeding hay, tapping into an already short supply.
