Tennessee mostly muddy to end February

February was wetter than normal in Tennessee.

The USDA says parts of the state had as much as 10 inches of rain during the month, leaving soil muddy and while that did have some impact on livestock, 59% of Tennessee’s cattle are in good to excellent shape.

Even with that wet weather, the winter wheat and pasture condition rating levels improved slightly from January.

Hay and roughage supplies tightened significantly, leading to concerns about shortages in some areas.
