The percentage of the Illinois corn crop rated good to excellent has been increasing. To hear it from farmers and an agronomist, corn and soybeans in central Illinois and southeastern Iowa appear to have been treated well. Aaron Gingerich with Gingerich Farms, which hosted the Wyffels Corn Strategies event near Lovington, Illinois, is pleased with his crop at this point.
“We may have a record bean crop here locally,” Gingerich told Brownfield Ag News during the event.
