Thiede replaces Stepp at Chicago EPA

The Environmental Protection Agency has named a new Region 5

administrator.

Kurt Thiede of Wisconsin was promoted from Chief of Staff to lead the division by EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler.  Thiede replaces Cathy Stepp, who was also his supervisor at Wisconsin’s Department of Natural Resources.  Thiede spent eighteen years at the DNR and was the Deputy Secretary and Chief Operations Officer before following Stepp to the EPA.

EPA’s District 5 oversees environmental protection efforts

in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, and Ohio.
