It could be some time before USDA has a good handle on the size of the 2023 U.S. crop.

Glenn Wachtler with Compeer Financial says harvest results indicate a lot of variability.

He tells Brownfield farmers dealing with drought conditions might assume corn and soybeans struggled everywhere.

“Eastern Corn Belt this year has received rain, so what you see locally might not exactly be the story of the whole market.
