Trade optimism buoys soybeans

Soybeans were higher on fund and technical buying. After last week’s tariff talk, President Trump says this week that China wants to negotiate. China’s Foreign Ministry denied any discussions with the U.S. took place over the weekend. China was the top destination in the weekly export inspections report, but the 2018/19 pace remains behind 2017/18 and China continues to source most of their soybeans from Brazil. U.S. prices are below Brazil until tariffs are factored in.
