President Trump says he is standing by America’s farmers. He was joined by farm organization leaders, state agriculture secretaries, and Secretary Sonny Perdue as he told reporters China has targeted farmers in the trade dispute, and another round of trade aid is necessary. “To end these chronic trading abuses, my administration took necessary and very lawful action to protect America’s economy, security, and farms.” The President told reporters at the White House the second round of Market Facilitation Program assistance to farmers will be paid for by tariffs on China.
