President Trump is suggesting that Iowa could be the site for the signing of the “phase one” trade agreement between the U.S. and China.
“I want to get the deal done first. But we’re thinking about
Iowa. You know why? Because it would be the largest order in history for
farmers,” Trump told reporters. “So to me, Iowa makes sense. I love Iowa. It’s
a possibility.”
The U.S. and China had hoped to sign the deal later this
month on the sidelines of the economic summit in Chile, but the event was
canceled due to violent protests in that country.
