President Trump, speaking Tuesday to the Economic Club of New York, said the U.S. and China are close to finalizing the “phase one” trade deal.
Trump said China’s economy is struggling and the Chinese are
anxious to reach an agreement.
“They are dying to make a deal. We’re the ones that are
deciding whether or not we want to make a deal,” Trump said. “We’re close. A significant
phase one trade deal with China could happen.
