A U.S. Congresswoman from Minnesota says it’s heartbreaking
to see so many dairy farms going out of business.
Democrat Angie Craig tells Brownfield 10 percent of the dairies in her state have gone under in the last year.
“This isn’t just about losing dairy farmers, this is about families losing the lives they know and love.”
To recover, she says farmers need more markets and better prices.
“They’re fighting a trade war, labor shortages (and) a hard winter.”
Craig is confident changes to dairy in the 2018 Farm Bill will help.
