Across the Corn Belt, mild weather is replacing previously cool conditions. Thursday’s high temperatures will range from near 35°F in the upper Great Lakes region to 55°F or higher in the middle Mississippi Valley. Spotty Midwestern snow that fell earlier in the month has largely melted, allowing late-season harvest efforts to advance as field conditions permit. Month-to-date temperatures have averaged at least 5 to 10°F above normal in much of the northern and western Corn Belt, favoring farm maintenance activities.
