Temperatures in early October are expected to be unseasonably warm over much of the Corn Belt.
Iowa state climatologist Justin Glisan says an active weather pattern that brought rain to parts of the Midwest recently will give way to hot and drier conditions over the next two to three weeks.
“We’ve had dry-down over the last several weeks, just given how rapidly maturity occurred with the two heatwaves that we had in August and the warmer temperatures that we’ve seen in September.
