Farmers and landowners can now
update enrollments in USDA conservation programs.
General sign-up for the Conservation
Reserve Program starts today (the ninth) and while that one is competitive, Brad
Karmen with the Farm Service Agency says continuous sign up is not.
“Continuous producers can offer their land up for enrollment any day of the year and if it meets the eligibility requirements and is a resource concern, FSA will accept those kinds of acres and put them in the conservation reserve.”
Enrollment is also open for the Conservation Reserve Enhancement Program.
