A bill expanding Nebraska’s Right to Farm Act has received second-round approval.
The legislation is designed to help prevent nuisance lawsuits like those brought against pork producers in North Carolina. It has the support of several ag groups, including Nebraska Cattlemen and Nebraska Farm Bureau.
Prior to the vote, the bill was amended to set a two-year time limit to file a nuisance suit against a change in a farming operation.
