A leader with the United Soybean Board says the soy industry is in a good position as the next growing season approaches.
Laurie Isley chairs USB’s Communication and Education Committee. “Due to genetics and some of the other practices that farmers have implemented, we’ve continued to see increases in yield on a yearly basis.”
Demand has increased for biofuels and Isley says, “That’s pulling a lot more of the oil from the soybeans, so we’re doing a lot of work to develop and make sure we’re maintaining and enhancing our markets for soy meal, particularly in the livestock industry.”
Speaking to Brownfield at the 2023 NAFB Convention in Kansas City, she said the future of soy is bright.
