USDA is awarding $40 million to 31 new projects through its Conservation Innovation Grants Program.
During a visit to Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa Thursday, Ag Secretary Tom Vilsack announced a series of investments aimed at climate-smart agriculture.
“We have the classic Innovation Grant program, which really focuses on new tools (and) new technologies, the next generation of efforts in conservation.”
He says there’s also an on-farm component to the program that’s designed to reduce risk for producers.
