USDA: mostly bearish week for export sales

Pork exports fell back to earth last week. The USDA says net sales of pork for 2019 delivery during the week ending October 17th were less than 20,000 tons, a drop of more than 90% from the previous week’s marketing year high and 80% less than the four-week average. Mexico was the big weekly buyer, while China purchased 1,300 tons for this year, along with 700 tons for next year. Beef exports were up modestly on the week, mostly to South Korea and Japan.
