USDA releases 2022 outlook for dairy

A USDA economist echoes expectations for a positive outlook in the year ahead when it comes to dairy.

Carolyn Liebrand with the Agricultural Marketing Service says Secretary Vilsack’s optimism on the overall outlook for agriculture extends to the nation’s dairy industry.

“We’re going to see slow milk production growth worldwide which will support stronger prices,” she says.

During the USDA Ag Outlook Forum, the agency increased the all-milk forecast for the year by $4.86 to $23.55 per hundredweight.
