The USDA supply and demand report released Friday confirmed record average yields in Illinois for both corn and soybeans in 2018.
Soybeans
averaged 65 bushels per acre, up from 58 a year ago. Corn averaged 210 bushels
per acre, compared to 201 in 2017.
Todd Hubbs with the University of Illinois says with reports of a difficult harvest in some areas of the state and with the number of beans still in fields, those numbers surprised him.
