USDA urges growers to file notice of loss if needed

The USDA is urging producers with federal crop insurance to file a notice of loss if they are delayed in harvesting their crops because of extremely wet and snowy conditions.

By filing that notice they can request more time to harvest before the end of the insurance period.  The date for corn and soybeans in December 10th; for spring planted wheat and barley, it’s October 31st.
