USDA’s latest export sales report

The USDA says export sales for corn, wheat, and soybeans

dropped this week, following the signing of the USMCA and the phase one

announcement with China. 

Corn sales were down 64 percent from the previous week and

37 percent from the prior 4-week average. 

Exports declined 54 percent.  Wheat

sales dropped 18 percent from the previous week, but were still up 29 percent

from the 4-week averages and exports were down 4 percent from last week.  Soybean sales dropped 49 percent from the

previous week and saw a 39 percent decline from the prior 4-week average.  Exports declined 28 percent. 

Cotton sales also declined this week, down 46 percent on the

week and 44 percent from the prior 4-week average.  Exports declined 28 percent this week. 

Rice was a bright spot with sales that were up 69 percent on

the week, but still 10 percent below the 4-week average.  Exports were up 40 percent from the prior

week. 

Beef sales for 2019 dropped 37 percent from the previous

week and 34 percent from the 4-week average with South Korea as the top

buyer.    Exports were down 11 percent on the week with

Japan as the primary destination.
