The U.S. Soybean Export Council says the U.S. is attracting more business than usual for soybean sales even with reduced shipments to China and competition from South American.
“While China has been focusing their purchases so heavily on South America, and there’s this concern over the tariffs that would really lock them into buying South American soybeans, I like to think of it as we have U.S. soybeans on sale relative to South American soybeans.”
CEO Jim Sutter tells Brownfield as China and other destinations transition to sourcing soybeans from South American, it’s opened the door for new buyers.
