The Chief Ag Negotiator for the U.S. Trade Representative’s office says he’s working with global trading partners to grow demand for U.S. ag products. Doug McKalip tells Brownfield there are reasons U.S. goods are in high demand. “Crops, specialty crops, meat products, etc. carry with them a reputation for high quality and for a high level of consistency,” he says. “They are just really a desirable product in those marketplaces.”
McKalip has been in Costa Rica this week, participating in bilateral discussions with the trade and agriculture ministries.
