The
owners of Valley Oaks Steak Company in western Missouri’s Johnson County have
announced they are closing operations after a long and costly fight to expand
their business.
A statement on Valley Oak’s Facebook page says they “became a lightning rod for individuals and organizations opposed to animal agriculture operations” and could no longer fight “the constant barrage of legal battles and extensive marketing efforts needed to counter misinformation.”

Deering with the Missouri Cattlemen’s Association says Valley Oaks “was a
family business that was bullied out of business on scientifically
unfounded, activist driven fear mongering” and says it’s a huge loss to every
farm and ranch family in Missouri and all of ag must stand united.
