Variable weather leads to myriad of crop diseases

Extreme weather variability has generated a wide array of crop diseases this year.

Asgrow/DEKALB agronomist Sue Brakhane says conditions in Iowa are representative of many parts of the Corn Belt.

“I have a northern part that has a lot of areas with ponding in fields, so we’re getting some wet feed issues showing up.  Maybe some crown rot in some corn.  There’s some pockets where stalk rots are starting to become a little more prominent.
