Very warm pattern ahead for the Heartland; largely dry weather for the eastern Corn Belt

Looking ahead, the 6- to 10-day outlook calls for the likelihood of near- or below-normal temperatures across the South, except in southern Florida, while warmer-than-normal weather will dominate the northern half of the U.S.

Meanwhile, near- or above-normal precipitation across much of the country should contrast with drier-than-normal conditions in the Pacific Northwest and from the Midwest to New England.
