Weather created varying crop conditions across Wisconsin
last week. USDA reporters say most
farmers had warmer than normal temperatures, except in the northwestern part of
the state. Scattered rain also brought
topsoil moisture back up to 37% surplus and 62% adequate. Several areas of eastern Wisconsin had enough
rain to prevent field work all week.
USDA reporters say 92% of the state’s corn is planted, and
87% has emerged. Ninety-three percent of
soybeans are planted and 80% have emerged.
Winter wheat is 81% headed and 18% is coloring.
