It was another week of widely variable rainfall across Wisconsin.
The latest USDA Crop Progress report says clear, hot, and humid weather persisted until Thursday when a wave of thunderstorms brought moisture mostly to south-central portions of the state.
Pastures and crops that aren’t irrigated in other parts of Wisconsin are showing signs of heat stress, and reporters say corn and soybeans are maturing quickly.
Statewide, corn and soybeans are developing about four to five days faster than normal with 75 percent good to excellent condition ratings.
