Weekly ethanol production down, stocks up

U.S. ethanol production declined last week, while supplies grew.

The U.S. Energy Information Administration says production averaged 1.031 million barrels a day, down 20,000 from the previous week’s multi-month high, but above the four-week average of 1.023 million barrels a day. The industry continues to grapple with mostly negative margins, while waiting for more details on year-round E15 availability and watching for new export demand.

Stocks were up 150,000 barrels at 23.501 million, the largest supply since the week ending December 14th, 2018.
