Wet conditions delay harvest in southern Indiana

The USDA says wet conditions slowed harvest for growers in southern Indiana this week. Farmers in the northern part of the state harvested with fewer delays.

Growers continue to harvest corn, soybeans, popcorn, processing vegetables, silage, seed corn, and apples.

According to the latest USDA Crop and Weather report, 91 percent of the corn crop was mature, and 89 percent of soybeans were dropping leaves.

Twenty seven percent of the corn crop has been harvested and soybean harvest is 24 percent complete.
