Avocados may become more difficult to find after the U.S. temporarily blocked imports of the fruit from Mexico following a safety threat against a US ag inspector.
Mexico is the largest avocado grower and exporter in the world, and the U.S. imports 80 percent of its crop. California supplies about 15 percent of the U.S. avocado market, making it difficult to produce enough to meet demand.
