An ag tech innovation leader says the dairy farmers who survive moving forward will be those who adopt technology the fastest.
Aiden Connolly, president of Agritech Capital tells Brownfield precision technology in livestock has unfortunately advanced slower than in crop production.
“Livestock tech has been the poorer cousin of this relationship,” he says. “That said, dairy has done a lot better than other species. I’m quite disappointed in what has come out for poultry, what’s come out for pigs.”
To help overcome labor issues, he sees robotics, sensors, and artificial intelligence gaining the fastest adoption.
