White mold coming back to forefront for Minnesota farmers

An agronomist in southern Minnesota says he’s starting to think a lot about white mold.

Dan Koehler with Dekalb/AsGrow tells Brownfield the plant disease is probably still fresh on the minds of growers after multiple factors led to widespread white mold in 2017.

A similarity this year, he says, is excessive moisture.

“We’re in the R1 stage now (s0) 0ur soybeans are flowering (and) that’s when they’re affected.
