During the next few days, a west-to-east storm track across the country will feature fast-moving storms producing generally light snow. For example, the storm system currently affecting the Midwest will cross the middle Atlantic Coast by Saturday.
The trailing system will also produce some rain across the Deep South, mainly from southern Texas to Florida.
Briefly much colder weather in the central and eastern U.S. could result in weekend freezes as far south as south-central Texas and the central Gulf Coast States.
