The USDA has increased its estimate for this year’s winter wheat crop.
Production is now projected at 1.182 billion bushels, 1% above the May guess on a slightly higher average yield figure, up 0.3 bushels per acre to 48.2, with a 1% cut in hard red winter to 581.801 million bushels canceled out by a 1% gain for soft red winter to 357.953 million and 5% jump for white winter to 241.868 million bushels.
