Soybeans were steady to fractionally lower in low trade volume. The trade continues to wait and see what happens next in talks with China. Negotiations have reportedly progressed well, but there’s no public timeline for the resumption of face to face discussions after the recent teleconferencing. Beans are also watching South America’s harvest and getting ready for widespread U.S. planting and the potential changes to acreage, when compared to the USDA’s prospective planting report. Soybean meal was higher and bean oil was lower on the adjustment of product spreads.
