The dispute
between a DePere area farm and local government officials over a farm expansion
permit will be heard by a state board. The Livestock Facility Siting
Review Board will hear the appeal of Ledgeview Farms against the Town of
Ledgeview for denying the permit needed for expansion.
Owners of
the farm believe the reason for the town’s permit denial is not permitted by
the Wisconsin Livestock Siting Law.
Department
of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection officials say residents and
landowners within two miles of the proposed expansion can submit written
comments until May 10th.
