
USDA reporters still have concerns about Wisconsin’s crops. There are several reports about farmers
running low or out of silage, and some are harvesting a portion of their corn
silage whether it’s ready or not. Last
week was a good week for making hay, and there are expectations of getting even
more hay this week. USDA says 70% of
Wisconsin’s third crop has been harvested.
The cooler weather has helped hay, but reporters say the corn really needs more heat.
