Wisconsin’s crops are starting to dry out after the record rain and flooding earlier this month. USDA reporters say corn and soybeans are losing color. Many farmers are harvesting corn silage, and some are finishing that task. Thirty-seven percent of corn silage is harvested. There are a few reports of corn being harvested for grain.
Ninety-six percent of the state’s corn is at dough stage, a week ahead of average.
Leaves are turning color on 78% of soybeans, five days ahead of average.
