Wisconsin officials are again waiving fees for the Agricultural Chemical Cleanup Program fund. Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection officials say the fee holiday for pesticide and fertilizer licensees, and farmers purchasing fertilizer will extend through June 2024 for fertilizer sales and through the 2023-24 license year for other licensees.
The department has the option to waive the fee whenever the program’s fund balance is above 1.5 million dollars. This will be the fifth straight year fertilizer dealers will omit the ACCP surcharge from their customers’ bills and the sixth year that pesticide and fertilizer businesses, commercial pesticide applicators, and pesticide manufacturers will not have to pay the surcharge as part of their license fee.
