Wisconsin farmers make planting progress

Wisconsin farmers made significant progress last week.

USDA’s latest crop update says corn planting advanced from 22 to 40 percent and is now slightly ahead of the five-year average.

Soybeans are 37 percent planted, compared to the usual pace of 26 percent.

Oat planting is at 68 percent, and pasture conditions are rated 59 percent good to excellent.
