A
northwestern Wisconsin farm family has been awarded the Leopold Conservation
Award. Jeff and Kelly Lake operate Lake
Family Farms near Boyceville. They
received the award at the Department of Ag, Trade, and Consumer Protection Board
meeting Thursday.
Jeff Lake says their farm has two branches of the Hay River converging near their house, and he focuses on creating healthy soil. “(There are) buffer strips next to the water, any sort of water.
