Wisconsin, Kentucky hemp growers must follow federal rule to qualify for crop insurance pilot

USDA’s Risk Management Agency Administrator says there are some important differences between traditional crop insurance and the newly offered hemp insurance pilot program.  Martin Barbre tells Brownfield producers will have to know who’s buying their crop. “It’s a marketing contract that you have to have in hand, someone that’s willing to buy the crop. Now, that can be a lot of different things that we’re not in the, (pause) The RMA cannot go out and say this contract is good, this contract is bad.
