Electric vehicle mandates and the impact on the future of biofuels was a key discussion point at Thursday’s Iowa Renewable Fuels Summit in Altoona, Iowa.
Monte Shaw with the Iowa Renewable Fuels Association says the biofuels industry is entering a new era of dramatic disruptions. “Even as stories emerge that EVs are less affordable, less reliable, and less desired by consumers, coastal states and even some countries are enacting EV mandates. Not just for cars, but even for heavy duty diesel trucks in some cases.”
He says EV mandates could drive low-carbon fuel options out of the market.
